Our Research

Traumalis is committed to evidence-based approaches, continuously validating our therapeutic techniques through rigorous scientific research.

Our Research Approach

At Traumalis, we believe that effective trauma treatment must be grounded in scientific evidence. Our team of clinical researchers works closely with leading academic institutions to design and conduct studies that evaluate the efficacy of our digital therapeutic interventions.

Our research follows rigorous methodological standards, including randomized controlled trials, longitudinal outcome studies, and neuroimaging investigations. All research protocols are reviewed by independent ethics committees, and our findings are published in peer-reviewed journals.

We are particularly interested in understanding how digital gameplay mechanics can enhance traditional therapeutic approaches for trauma, such as cognitive processing therapy, EMDR, and exposure therapy. Our research explores both clinical outcomes and the underlying neurobiological mechanisms of change.

Key Research Areas

Neurobiology of Trauma

Investigating how traumatic experiences affect neural circuitry and how therapeutic interventions can promote neuroplasticity and healing.

Clinical Outcomes

Measuring the effectiveness of Traumalis interventions through standardized clinical assessments of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and quality of life.

User Engagement

Studying how gameplay elements affect therapeutic engagement, adherence, and long-term outcomes compared to traditional treatment modalities.

Recent Publications

Digital Therapeutic Games for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Chen, S., Rodriguez, M., Wilson, J., et al. (2023) Journal of Clinical Psychology

This study compared outcomes between participants using the Traumalis digital therapeutic for 8 weeks and those receiving standard cognitive processing therapy. Results showed comparable reductions in PTSD symptoms, with significantly higher engagement rates in the Traumalis group.

Neural Correlates of Digital Therapeutic Engagement in Trauma Recovery

Wilson, J., Chen, S., et al. (2022) Frontiers in Neuroscience

Using fMRI, this study examined neural activity patterns during Traumalis gameplay. Results indicated increased connectivity between prefrontal cortical regions and the amygdala, consistent with enhanced emotional regulation mechanisms.

Gamification Elements in Digital Trauma Therapy: Effects on Engagement and Treatment Outcomes

Rodriguez, M., Chen, S., et al. (2022) Journal of Medical Internet Research

This study examined how specific gameplay mechanics influence therapeutic engagement and outcomes. Progression systems, narrative elements, and reward mechanisms were associated with increased session frequency and duration, as well as improved clinical outcomes.
